1 year check up

Audrey Grace had her 1 year check up with Dr. Smith on June 9th. Dr. Smith said she was perfect! She weighs 23 lbs 4 oz (95th percentile) and is 31 inches long (90th percentile). She is definitely a healthy girl! She is saying 7 words, Mama, Dada, dog, uh oh, no, ball and nose. Annie taught her to point to her nose and say nose! She is getting two more teeth. Her top two. You can see the left one coming thru and feel the right one. She is eating all table food and drinking 3-4 6-8 oz sippy cups a day! NO MORE BOTTLE! We did it and it was so easy! I think transitioning her to the sippy cup early really helped with this. Last Friday night (June 3rd) was her last bottle. She had gotten to wear she was so tired at night (from daycare) that she hardly drank it anyway. I thought that was as good of a time as any to see how she would react. So Saturday night I just offered her a sippy cup after her bath. She drank a little and then I laid her down, that was it, no crying. It was that easy. I don't think getting rid of the paci will be so easy. She is still adjusting to her new room at daycare and is not real impressed with it. She cries every morning. So for the first 2 weeks the teacher let her have her paci, I think ALL day! She has become obsessed with having it at all times. She was only taking it when she slept but now she will whine until she gets it. I am working on it and her teacher is too. Hopefully together we can get a handle on it. Daycare is wearing her out. She has always been pretty happy for the most part, but at night after daycare she is so exhaused that she is misreble. They only take 1 nap a day and I just don't think that is enough for her. I guess that means she is having fun and playing hard so that is good! She is still not walking, which is still fine by me! She crawls everywhere and pulls up on everything though. She will stand for a few seconds but knows she can get where she wants to be by crawling. She is all over the place. Her favorite thing to do is crawl as fast a she can from the den to the kitchen and get into Miller's water bowl or into the cabinet with the plastic cups and throw them all over the floor. Ryan and I will be in the kitchen and her her laughing because she is having so much fun throwing cups! She also loves to pull all the drawers in the kitchen out and get into the dishwasher. She is also trying to learn what she can and can't get away with. She is learning to try and pitch a fit. Dr. Smith said she is learning some of this from daycare but this is the age where they are developing an opinion and learning how to test you. She is testing us, but I think we are doing good to teach her early, that WE are the boss!

Picture Post

We have been so busy since the birthday party, I haven't had time to blog. We rented our house in Southaven and had to be out 4 days after we found out! We didn't want to risk the people not moving in, so we got it done. It was not fun at all but Thanks to Annie and Dru for babysitting and Grandma and Grandpa being our storage unit, we accomplished the move in 2 days. You forget how much stuff you really have in your house. We went from a 2000 sq foot house to a 1000 sq foot house, so needless to say not near the space we are used to. We do love our little rental house in Vicksburg and have made some great new friends!

These pictures are from the last weekend in April in Columbus. We went to see Lores in Beauty and the Beast (of course I have no pictures of this). Lores has the best time acting in the YMCA play productions. She has tried out and been in the last 2 plays! We are all so impressed that she will do this. Everyone else in the family would run and hide if we had to get on stage!

Lucy had an art show Friday before Lores' play. We got to see all of her art from the semester. She does such a good job

More Birthday Party Pictures

I deleted some of the pictures from my original post. It was too much trouble to start over so I will just add them in a new post!

Grandma and AG

Anne Bailey thought the water mat was great!

Frances did too! (the picture is blurry but I didn't have any other pics of Frances and I couldn't leave her out!)
Lucy and Grayson...he was being a typical boy. They had so much fun playing together.

First Birthday Party

"You Are My Sunshine", there was no better theme than that for Audrey Grace's first birthday party! She has brought us so much "light" and happiness over the past year. Our skies are rarely gray with Audrey Grace in our life. I know in the days to come we will want to pull our hair out, but for now we will soak up all the joy, laughter and love this precious little girl brings to our life.

We celebrated with the birthday party on Saturday, May 28th. We were blessed to have so many of our friends and family to join us. It was HOT, but we still had a great time! We had a water mat, baby pool, slip-n-slide, the neighbor's pool, and Audrey Grace's new 3 in 1 play gym to entertain with. There were children of all ages (4 months to 10 years old), so we had a variety. While everyone mingled and played, Ryan and Louis grilled hamburgers and hot dogs. As the sun went down and the birthday girl was winding down, we sang Happy Birthday, ate cake and ice cream, had a bath and she conked out!

As I said in my last post, I temporarily misplaced my camera and our "big camera" was having a malfunction. Every picture I took was blurry! Why did I not make sure the camera was ready to go for the 1st Birthday Party?? Thank You to Angelia and Amy for getting some pictures for me.

She is so generous! She loves to offer you her food, most of the time we don't want it! This was an exception!

I am done!

First time in my baby pool

I temporarily misplaced my camera, so I had forgotten about Audrey Grace's first time in her baby pool. It was on May 15th. Ryan and I had gone to Lake Bruin with friends to celebrate Matthew Carr's 30th birthday. When we got home, Annie had bought Audrey Grace a baby pool! We couldn't wait to get her in it and see how she would like it. She thought it was great! She squealed, splashed and crawled all over the pool. We put her bathtub toys in there and she had so much fun!
