14 months old

Our sweet little Audrey Grace is 14months old today! She is still not walking but she is busy and into everything she can stand and reach. She will walk holding our hand, but as soon as we let go, she drops to her booty and crawls as fast as she can. I guess she just hasn't figured out yet that she can do it by herself or maybe she doesn't care yet. She has reached the stage where she wants to open every cabinet and every drawer and pull everything out. She used to just have a drawer or two she would get into, but now it is ALL of them. I feel like she learns something new everyday. She may not be walking, but she talks up a storm. She carries on a conversation with herself sometimes! She talks to us, her toys, her friends and Miller like we know exactly what she is saying. Her new words are bird, pipi, eye, hey, baby, dada has turned into daddy, and she will try and repeat anything you say to her. She blows kisses now too! I love this new trick. It is so cute because she even makes the muah noise to go along with it. Her favorite toys at the moment are puzzles and books. She reads a book like she knows what she is doing. She flips the pages and talks like she is reading it. She does very well playing by herself but does love to have our undivided attention at times. She loves to play peek a boo. She claps her hands and says yea! She is still a Mama's girl and would love for me to hold her at all times! She eats pretty good, but doesn't like just anything. She still loves fruits and veggies and would only eat that if I let her. I haven't found a fruit or veggie she won't eat yet! I always pack her something to eat if we go somewhere because 9 times out of 10 she will not eat anything on the menu. We tried to give her some pizza today and she spit it out. What American doesn't like pizza? I think I mentioned before that she won't touch mexican rice and beans, which I think is abnormal for a baby. Our new foods are fish sticks and chicken tenders. I usually boil her some frozen veggie and she will have a meat or pasta ( chefboardee meals) and a fruit for lunch/dinner. She loves yogurt, cheese, applesauce, nutri grain bars, pancakes, ritz crackers, goldfish, mac-n-cheese, gerber meat sticks (they gross me out, so I try not to give them to her, but she really likes them). She is still only drinking milk and water. She still has 4 teeth but you can see 2 more on the top that should poke thru any day.
She is paying more and more attention to Miller. Ryan taught her to throw his ball for him, so she thinks this is really funny. She will crawl over to him and talk to him or poke at him and then throw his ball or bone for him. She is wearing mostly 18 month clothes and is between a size 3-4 shoe. Her little feet are still pretty thick so shoes really don't fit her very good. She really doesn't like them anyway but has to wear them at school. She is going to sleep between 7-730 still and waking up between 630-7.
I did want to mention daycare. She has adjusted really well to her new classroom. It took about a month for her to not cry when I drop her off. She still will some days but I can stand outside the window and watch and she stops as soon as I shut the door. She is the only girl in her room! Miss Ally tells me the 6 little boys in there are sweet to her. She is the only one in there who doesn't walk yet! They do arts and crafts and it is so cute to see what they have done each day. Miss Ally is WONDERFUL with these kids and I am so happy we got to have her as our teacher!

We just got back from our big family beach trip in Cape San Blas, FL. I am working on getting pictures from everybody before I post. This is where she learned to say bird. She was mesmerized with the seagulls. She would point to them and we would say bird. Within a day she was pointing to them and saying bird. Now she points up in the sky and says bird! Those pictures will be coming in the next few days hopefully.

First trip to Jellystone!

On June 23rd, I packed up and went to Orange Beach for a long girls weekend with my Mom, sister and aunt. We had such a great, relaxing weekend full of girl talk, eating, drinking and pool time. We didn't even go to the beach the whole time. We slept in, exercised, had brunch, lounged by the pool and then went to dinner both full days we were there. It was great! We don't get to have a lot of time like that together because we usually have kids and other people (men) running around!

While I was gone, Ryan was babysitting! I knew he would be fine and I was not worried at all. The Rowland's asked if we wanted to go to Jellystone on Saturday. Since I was going to be out of town I assumed Ryan wouldn't dream of doing that. Wrong. He was all for it. I was so excited that he wanted to take her. It made me proud! I sound like his mom or something but I just thought it was so great he would do something like that without me there. I missed them, but he and AG had some good bonding time and he got to change the dirty diapers for once!!

Father's Day Weekend

We had a very busy Father's Day weekend this year. On Saturday we went to Frances Ferrell's, our neighbor, First Birthday Party! Audrey Grace and I had so much fun meeting new friends and playing with old ones!

We came home and Mr. Butch, Sue, Huck, Cole and Hank were at our house waiting patiently to see us! We grilled out, played, and talked until way too late. Huck and AG are close in age and beginning to pay a little more attention to each other, so it is always fun to see them interact. Cole and Hank played all kind of ball you can think of, football, baseball, dodge ball...

Dru and Hunt joined us later in the night after Hunt played in a baseball game. Sunday we woke up and had Father's Day! Mark, Dru and the boys came back over Sunday morning for a yummy pancake breakfast, fried chicken and veggies for lunch with lemon meringue pie for dessert! We ate way too much but had the best time visiting and playing with all the boys in our family!
